Accident – Death – Obituary News : Gunmen Kill Pastor’s Wife in Kwara State Church Attack

Unknown gunmen have tragically taken the life of Mrs Olawale, the wife of a Pastor from the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Agbeku community, located in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The incident occurred on Saturday, during which another individual was also shot.

According to reports, the perpetrators, suspected to be kidnappers, targeted both the church auditorium and the residence of the victims, including Mrs Olawale, who operated a store in the area. The assailants ruthlessly invaded the premises, causing havoc and panic among the congregation.

Rasaki Zubair, a respected community leader, expressed his grief over the incident during an interview with our correspondent on Sunday. He confirmed the devastating news, stating, “The kidnappers mercilessly killed Mrs Olawale, while another victim who sustained gunshot wounds is currently fighting for their life in a hospital.”

Tragically, the abductors not only took the life of the pastor’s wife but also abducted a male victim and the aide of the late pastor’s wife. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the community is left shaken and seeking answers.

Efforts to reach the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, proved unsuccessful as calls to his office went unanswered on Sunday. The police command, which is yet to appoint a spokesperson after the retirement of Ajayi Okasanmi, a senior officer, has acknowledged the incident. A senior police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the tragic event, stating, “We are currently gathering details about the incident.”
