Aurora Police Seek Public’s Help in Unsolved Homicide

Aurora police are reaching out to the public for assistance in solving a year-old homicide case that occurred on South Crystal Way. In a news release issued on Sunday, authorities urged anyone with information to come forward.

The incident took place in the early hours of November 12, 2022, when Aurora police officers promptly responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 900 block of South Crystal Way. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Jared Chavez lying on the sidewalk, having sustained a gunshot wound. Tragically, Chavez succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving the community shocked and devastated.

Initial investigations have revealed that Chavez was a resident of the apartment complex and that the shooting stemmed from a heated argument with an unidentified suspect. However, despite diligent efforts, detectives have been unable to make any significant breakthroughs in the case.

Fast forward one year to Sunday, November 12, 2023, detectives are now appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect responsible for Chavez’s untimely death.
