Man killed and cousin injured in a car accident on Panchkula-Yamunanagar highway

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Panchkula: A tragic accident on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar national highway has claimed the life of a man and left his cousin injured. The incident occurred when a car driver collided with their scooter, resulting in the death of one and serious injuries to the other. The woman driving the car has been booked by the police.

According to the police report, the incident took place when Chandigarh resident Sandeep was traveling to Kakrali village with his cousin Vikas Kumar, who resides in Mauli Jagran. As they reached the sectors 26/27 cut, a car bearing registration number CH-01-CG-5132 crashed into their scooter. Sandeep mentioned that he fell on the roadside, while Vikas fell in the middle of the road, causing his helmet to come off and hit the road divider. The car driver, along with the help of local residents, rushed both Sandeep and Vikas to the civil hospital in her car. However, Vikas’ injuries were critical, and he was referred to PGIMER Chandigarh, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The police have registered a case against the car driver under sections 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 304-A (death caused due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code at Chandimandir police station. They have assured that the accused will be apprehended and investigations are currently underway.

The wedding party was en route to village Baddowal when the accident occurred. The deceased have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh, Angrej Singh, Simran Kaur, and a 4-year-old child. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana, and the police are currently investigating the incident.
