Fatal Crash in Winston-Salem: Brandon Dewayne Walker Killed in Police Chase

The incident occurred around 9:26 a.m. when a state trooper attempted to pull over a Pontiac vehicle for allegedly having fictitious registration plates.

The driver of the Pontiac refused to stop and continued to drive away, prompting a pursuit by the state trooper. The chase came to a tragic end at the intersection of Cole Road and Utah Drive when the driver of the Pontiac lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an apartment building after striking a curb. Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, the driver, identified as Brandon Dewayne Walker of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene by Forsyth County EMS.
