Christopher Lacker Identified as Suspect in Multiple Storage Facility Burglaries in Suffolk County

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Suspect Identified in String of Storage Facility Burglaries in Suffolk County

In a recent development, Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives have identified Christopher Lacker, a 42-year-old resident of Islandia, as the suspect responsible for a series of burglaries at storage facilities in the Fourth and Fifth Precincts. The crimes took place between December 2022 and November 2023.

According to the police investigation, Lacker would gain entry into the storage facilities and proceed to cut the locks off individual storage units. Once inside, he would steal various items from the units. The authorities have linked Lacker to a total of 14 incidents involving four different businesses.

The targeted storage facilities include Public Storage, located at 770 Nesconset Highway in Nesconset, which was burglarized in December 2022. Extra Space Storage, situated at 3016 Express Drive in Islandia, was hit multiple times by Lacker in February, September, October, and November 2023. Another Extra Space Storage, located at 1590 Lakeland Ave. in Bohemia, became a victim of Lacker’s criminal activities in September 2023. Lastly, Public Storage at 745 Calebs Path in Hauppauge was burglarized by Lacker in October 2023.

On Saturday, November 11, the police were able to locate Lacker at his residence. At around 4:30 p.m., officers apprehended him, leading to his subsequent arrest. Lacker now faces charges of 14 counts of third-degree burglary and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

To further investigate the case, Lacker is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, November 12. The police are confident that this arrest will bring an end to the string of burglaries that have plagued the storage facilities in the Fourth and Fifth Precincts.
