A 36-year-old resident of Bradenton, Thomas Matejcek, has been arrested and charged with murder following the discovery of his mother and her boyfriend’s lifeless bodies at a local RV park on Friday, according to a news release by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.

Matejcek now faces two counts of second-degree murder. His arrest took place on the same day when a deputy, responding to a distress call, witnessed him fleeing from the scene at the Arbor Terrace RV Park, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

Upon arrival at the 200 block of 55th Avenue Terrace West, deputies found the bodies of a 55-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman on the floor of their mobile home.

The sheriff’s office had previously refrained from disclosing the identities of the victims, invoking Marsy’s Law, a Florida statute designed to safeguard the privacy of crime victims by prohibiting the release of their personal information.

In an update released on Saturday, the victims were identified as Patricia Matejcek, Thomas Matejcek’s mother, and her boyfriend, Sean Harrison Sr. The couple had been residing together at the RV park, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
