DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department is appealing to the public for information regarding an unsolved homicide that occurred one year ago on November 12, 2022. The incident took place at an apartment complex located in the 900 block of South Crystal Way in Aurora, Colorado.

According to authorities, officers responded to a reported shooting at the complex around 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Jared Chavez lying on the sidewalk with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chavez was a resident of the apartment complex and the shooting is believed to have stemmed from an argument between him and an unidentified suspect. Despite exhaustive efforts by detectives, all leads in the investigation have been exhausted, leaving the case unresolved.
