The incident occurred at around 7:52 a.m. when deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department were urgently called to the intersection of U.S. 35 and Davis Meyers Road, just outside the serene town of Williamsburg.

Upon reaching the scene, the first responders were informed that Legg had been driving southbound on U.S. 35 in her 2011 Honda Accord, near Davis Meyers Road. However, tragedy struck as she lost control of her vehicle during a long right-hand curve, veering over the center line and crashing into a tri-axle dump truck.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the authorities indicate that the presence of sun glare and the potential usage of an electronic device while driving might have been contributing factors to the accident.

Due to the severity of the crash, U.S. 35 had to be temporarily closed for investigation purposes. However, after rigorous analysis by the authorities, the road was deemed safe for travel and was reopened to the public around noon on Saturday.

Williamsburg, a charming town with a population of approximately 1,800, is situated just 20 minutes northwest of Richmond.
