Accident – Death – Obituary News : Chicago Police Investigate Shooting in Humboldt Park

Chicago police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Humboldt Park, leaving one man dead and another hospitalized. Ald. Jessie Fuentes (26th) has called on members of the community to assist in the investigation.

The shooting took place around 3 a.m. on Saturday on Avers Avenue near West Le Moyne Street. The victims were inside a vehicle when someone from a blue SUV fired shots at them, according to Chicago police.

In a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ald. Jessie Fuentes revealed that the two men involved in the incident were delivering food for DoorDash. The 31-year-old victim, identified as Tramon Thomas by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, was pronounced dead after being taken to Stroger Hospital. The 32-year-old man remains in serious condition.

Authorities have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and Area Five detectives are currently investigating the case.

Ald. Jessie Fuentes expressed her condolences, stating, “It’s disheartening to report on such events, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.”
