Teenage girl accused of slitting newborn baby’s throat and stuffing body in dog food bag

A 16-year-old girl from Nebraska has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon after allegedly slitting her newborn baby’s throat and hiding the body in an empty bag of dog food. Tragic incident unfolds in Gordon, Nebraska

Local authorities were alerted on November 6th when a report came in about a teenager giving birth, and the baby was found unresponsive. Upon arriving at the girl’s home in Gordon, Nebraska, police were met by the teen’s father who claimed that the baby had been stillborn.

Disturbing discovery at the crime scene

Upon entering the family’s residence, police noticed the girl’s mother holding the lifeless body of the baby wrapped in a towel. The mother informed officers that her daughter had harmed the infant. Further examination of the baby’s unresponsive body revealed a cut through the windpipe and multiple stab wounds on the left side of the chest. Emergency medical services were called in to provide immediate care.

Uncovering the knife and the teen’s actions

Investigation revealed that the teen had gone into the kitchen an hour prior to the incident and accessed a drawer containing a boning knife. Upon the girl’s return, her parents confronted her, leading to her admission of killing the baby.
