Tragic Loss: Timothy Bruce Smith Dies in Fatal Saluda County House Fire
72-year-old Leesville Resident Confirmed as the Victim
Saluda County, South Carolina – In a devastating incident, a house fire claimed the life of Timothy Bruce Smith, a 72-year-old resident of Leesville. The Saluda County Coroner’s Office confirmed Mr. Smith’s identity as the victim of this tragic incident.
Early Morning Blaze Engulfs Saluda County Residence
The Saluda County Fire Service, along with other emergency personnel, responded to a distress call on the morning of Thursday, November 9th. The incident occurred in the Circle area, located off Columbia Hwy / Hwy 378. Firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene to combat the flames.
Timothy Bruce Smith’s Unfortunate Fate
Authorities have revealed that Timothy Bruce Smith was trapped inside his residence and place of business during the fire. After being rescued, he was immediately rushed to the Prisma Health Richland trauma center for treatment. However, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Mr. Smith succumbed to his injuries in the early afternoon.
Collaborative Investigation Launched
The Coroner’s Office, in conjunction with the Saluda County Fire Service, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office, will initiate a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding Mr. Smith’s tragic demise. The investigation is currently ongoing.
