Accident – Death – Obituary News : Gurugram, Nov 11: A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his co-worker at a dhaba located in Rama Garden Basai Enclave in Gurugram over a minor dispute, police said.
The suspect, identified as Karan (40), a resident of district Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested after the incident. The victim, identified as Darshan Lal (52), was a resident of Jammu.
According to the police, they received information regarding a murder at Agarwal Dhaba near Rama Garden Basai Enclave on Friday. Upon reaching the spot, the police discovered the body of Darshan Lal in a pool of blood. Deepak, the owner of the dhaba, informed the police that he had left the dhaba on Thursday night and found Darshan Lal dead on his bed the next morning.
Further investigation revealed that the murder was committed by Karan, who also worked at the dhaba. He had fled the scene after committing the crime. Based on a complaint filed by the dhaba owner, a case was registered under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC at the Sector-10A police station of Gurugram.
In a joint operation, the police teams of Crime Branch Sector-10 and Police Station Sector-10 arrested the accused from Old Faridabad on Friday. During the investigation, Karan admitted to the crime and provided details of the incident.
According to Varun Dahiya, ACP (crime), Darshan Lal used to clean utensils at the dhaba, and both of them used to stay at the dhaba at night. On the night of November 9 and 10, they had consumed alcohol and prepared rice to eat. However, when Karan asked Darshan Lal to make roti, he refused. This led to a heated argument between the two, and in a fit of rage, Karan hit Darshan Lal on the head with a wooden object. He then fled the scene, intending to avoid arrest by going to his village. However, the police apprehended him before he could reach his village.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and has raised concerns about workplace safety. The police have assured the public that they will thoroughly investigate the case and ensure that justice is served.
