Tragic Car Crash Claims Life of John A. Ferguson High School Student, 15-year-old Anthony Jayden Gago

Accident – Death – Obituary News : MIAMI – In a tragic incident, two teenagers from John A. Ferguson Senior High School in Southwest Miami-Dade were involved in a deadly car crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The 15-year-old driver, Anthony Jayden Gago, lost his life in the accident, while his 14-year-old passenger, Jazmin Keltz, is currently in critical condition at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.

The devastating news has left the families and the community in shock. Michael Feiler, an attorney representing the Keltz family, expressed their gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. Feiler stated, “We are conducting a thorough investigation to seek closure for the family. The Keltz family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from friends and the community.”

Danny Garcia, a cousin of Gago, also shared his grief, describing Anthony as a bright and compassionate young man whose untimely passing has left the Gago and Betancourt families devastated.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Gago was driving his mother’s Audi when they received a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon attempting to pull him over, Gago fled from the scene and crashed into a pillar at 3 a.m. on Miller Drive, under a Florida Turnpike overpass at S.W. 117th Avenue.

The news of the tragedy has deeply affected the students at John A. Ferguson Senior High School. Daimarys Nazco expressed her sadness, saying, “It’s a real tragedy for the community and the family. I feel terrible. This is heartbreaking.” Another student, Ricardo Valladares, emphasized the importance of responsibility and considering the consequences of one’s actions, stating, “The lesson is to be responsible and think about the potential consequences.” Emily Fletes added, “I wish this had never happened. I wish they had stayed safe. It just breaks my heart.”

Miami-Dade Police have urged parents to have conversations with their children about safety in light of this incident. They also revealed that the mother of the deceased teenager had no knowledge that her car was being used.

Angelina Gonzalez, another student at the school, expressed her belief that this tragedy could have been avoided. She said, “If they had taken more time to think about going out at that time and not done what they did, this could have been prevented.”

As the investigation continues, authorities are trying to determine why the teenagers were out so late at night and whether they were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The community mourns the loss of Anthony Jayden Gago and hopes for a full recovery for Jazmin Keltz. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible decision-making and the need to prioritize safety on the roads.
