HENRY COUNTY, A.L. Sees Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting of South Carolina Man

Henry County, Alabama – In a tragic incident, a man from Blacksburg, South Carolina, was fatally wounded in an officer-involved shooting, as reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

According to ALEA, on November 7th at approximately 11:45 a.m., officers from the Eufala Police Department, along with deputies from the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office, engaged in a pursuit that crossed into Henry County. In response, deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit to provide assistance.

As the chase progressed into the city of Headland, the driver ultimately lost control of the vehicle and crashed. In a disturbing turn of events, the suspect pulled out a firearm.

In a confrontation that followed, the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Cameron Alan Eaton of Blacksburg, was fatally wounded by law enforcement officials.

Fortunately, no officers sustained any injuries during the course of the incident.

Authorities have initiated an ongoing investigation, and the findings will subsequently be handed over to the Henry County District Attorney’s Office for further scrutiny.
