63-year-old Dena Scripture Threatens Schools on Social Media, Arrested and Charged

Accident – Death – Obituary News : FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Connersville have apprehended a 63-year-old woman accused of making threats against multiple schools on social media. The suspect, identified as Dena Scripture, was arrested on Thursday afternoon following reports of the threats circulating on Facebook.

The Connersville Police Department (CPD) received several reports concerning threatening posts on Facebook attributed to Scripture at around 4 p.m. on Thursday. In response, the Fayette County School Corporation decided to cancel or suspend various school activities as a precautionary measure while authorities worked to determine the origin and severity of the threats.

CPD initiated an investigation to identify the Facebook profile responsible for the threats. Following the search, Scripture was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with making a terroristic threat, classified as a level 5 felony. Additionally, she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor offense.

CPD stated that Scripture was transported without incident to the Fayette County Jail, where she was placed on a probation hold. As a result, no bond can be posted for at least five days or until the court reviews the case and determines an appropriate bond amount.
