However, Kachi demanded a shocking sacrifice from the young woman – her finger.

Trusting Kachi’s previous assistance in treating a severely ill family member, the victim agreed to comply with his demands and sacrificed her finger. However, the situation took a gruesome turn on November 3 when the supposed ritual was scheduled to take place. Kachi allegedly drugged the victim with sleeping pills mixed in the prasad (holy offering) and rendered her unconscious. Taking advantage of her vulnerable state, the accused brutally raped her multiple times.

When the victim’s family discovered her lifeless body, they immediately contacted the police, who swiftly launched an investigation. The case has been registered under sections 302 (murder), 376 (rape), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

During the interrogation of the two arrested individuals, the police inquired about the motive behind committing the crime at a different location. The accused explained that according to their twisted beliefs, human sacrifices had to be performed after crossing the village pond. Hence, they transported the victim to Tekapar Tiraha for the horrific act.

This shocking incident highlights the urgent need for society to address superstitions and put an end to the exploitation of vulnerable individuals in the name of black magic rituals.
