37-Year-Old Man Charged with Murdering Girlfriend, Attacked by Angry Mob in Seshego, Limpopo: Victim Identified as Rose Moabelo

Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 37-year-old man from Seshego in Polokwane, Limpopo, was subjected to a brutal attack by an enraged mob after being accused of murdering his girlfriend. The incident took place on Wednesday, leaving the suspect critically injured. The woman’s body was discovered at the man’s residence in the Peter Nchabeleng section of Mmotong wa Perekisi, Seshego, following a report by her family on Saturday.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly killed his girlfriend and concealed her body in his bedroom. The Limpopo police were alerted about the incident and swiftly responded to the scene with assistance from the public order policing unit. Their prompt intervention managed to rescue the suspect from the violent mob.

Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the spokesperson for Limpopo police, confirmed that the 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested in connection with the murder of his girlfriend. Due to the severity of injuries sustained during the mob attack, he was placed under police guard while receiving medical attention.

The victim, identified as Rose Moabelo, aged 31, was found lifeless on Monday, and her death is being treated as a murder case. As investigations continue, the police are also pursuing charges of attempted murder against the individuals involved in the assault on the suspect.

In response to the incident, Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe appealed to community members to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. Hadebe emphasized the importance of reporting crimes to the authorities, enabling them to initiate proper investigations.

The suspect is expected to appear in court, facing a charge of murder, at the Seshego magistrate’s court. Meanwhile, the police are actively searching for the individuals responsible for the mob attack.
