Police Officer Suspended Following Allegations of Child Defilement in Arua, West Nile

A police officer in Arua, West Nile has been suspended from his position after facing allegations of defiling a 21-month-old child. The accused officer, identified as 49-year-old Inspector of Police Thomas Otim, was in charge of the West Nile Region Police Standards Unit.

Otim’s suspension comes as he was re-arrested on charges of aggravated defilement, a heinous crime he allegedly committed on Independence Day.
