Templeton, UK – The Templeton California Highway Patrol (CHP) is seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who managed to escape following a high-speed pursuit. The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 10:50 p.m. near the Bradley Rest Area on Highway 101 in Monterey County, as reported by King City CHP.

According to CHP officials, a Black 2007 Infiniti G-35 was initially pulled over for speeding by a King City CHP officer who was monitoring a nearby construction site. However, as the officer approached the vehicle, the driver suddenly accelerated and fled southbound on the highway.

A Templeton CHP officer later spotted the suspect’s vehicle on 17th St. in Paso Robles and immediately initiated a pursuit down Pine Street, as detailed in an official CHP press release. The driver continued to evade capture, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph, before reentering Highway 101 and heading northbound.

Reports indicate that the driver, in a startling turn of events, began driving in the wrong direction after taking the Camp Roberts off-ramp. The CHP report further reveals that the suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a hill near the rest area parking lot. Two individuals then hastily exited the car and fled on foot.

Although law enforcement managed to apprehend the passenger, a 26-year-old Oakland man, the driver successfully eluded capture by escaping onto Camp Roberts property. An exhaustive search, involving the deployment of a K9 unit, was conducted in an attempt to locate the fleeing suspect. Regrettably, the driver remains at large.
