Regrettably, the victim, identified as Francisco Lumbreras by his family, was pronounced dead at the scene by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) officials who arrived at the location. The FDNY described the incident as the worker getting “entangled” in the machine.

The site of the accident, 1140 Grinnell Place, is a commercial space occupied by CNB Contracting Corp. This company specializes in various construction-related services, including trucking, concrete work, masonry, excavation, underpinning, and road restoration.

The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) stated that the site was not an active construction site at the time of the accident, and no construction operations were taking place. However, a preliminary investigation revealed that Lumbreras was in the process of cleaning the concrete truck when the accident occurred, according to DOB officials.
