Accident – Death – Obituary News : NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Shockwaves were sent through the community on Monday as images of unverified pages from The Covenant School shooter’s writings were released to the public by conservative radio host Steven Crowder. The notebook allegedly contains the shooter’s “manifesto,” and Crowder posted images of three pages on Twitter.

According to Crowder, the images were taken by a detective at the Covenant School scene and sent to his source within the Metro Nashville Police Department. To verify the source and obtain the images, Crowder’s team flew to Nashville. Crowder did not disclose if he has any more pages to share but suggested that Metro police should be able to authenticate the documents as they have possession of the shooter’s journals.

Metro police spokesperson Kris Mumford stated that the department is still looking into the matter, indicating that they have yet to authenticate the released images. Meanwhile, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell expressed concern over the release and announced an investigation into how the images were made public. He emphasized the importance of the safety, security, and well-being of the Covenant families and urged those in need of support to reach out to mental health professionals.

David Raybin, attorney for the shooter’s parents, declined to authenticate the images, stating that it would be inappropriate for him to comment on pending litigation. The Covenant Families For Brighter Tomorrows, an organization representing the families affected by the shooting, also refrained from commenting on the alleged manifesto release.

The tragic shooting at the Covenant School in Green Hills occurred on March 27, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including three children. The victims were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney, Cynthia Peak, Dr. Katherine Koonce, and Mike Hill.

Police discovered multiple journals during their search of the shooter’s home and car, which allegedly documented the plans for the mass murder months before it happened. The shooter fired a total of 152 rounds, including rifle rounds and nine-millimeter rounds, during the incident. The collective writings found in the shooter’s vehicle and home reveal a meticulous planning process that spanned several months, along with references to other mass murderers.

While there is an ongoing legal battle regarding the release of the writings to the public, no decision has been made yet. Both Covenant families and Metro Government are presenting their arguments on the matter. The court will ultimately decide whether parents and Metro government have the right to weigh in on the release and which parts of the documents, if any, will be made public.

In January, students, faculty, and staff are scheduled to return to The Covenant School campus, marking a significant step towards healing and moving forward from the tragedy..
