Accident – death – Obituary News : Seven-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Tragic Well Incident in Kwara State

In a heartbreaking incident in Kwara State, a seven-year-old boy named Abdul-Hayi was tragically discovered dead in a domestic well. The incident occurred in the Yaa-Lateef compound, Tinu street, Akerebiata, in Ilorin East Local Government Area. The young boy had been fetching water when one of his legs suddenly slipped, causing him to fall into the well on Monday evening around 5:30 pm.

The Head of Department, Media and Publicity, Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, confirmed the incident on Tuesday. It was reported that the firemen were alerted to the scene through a phone call made by Mr. Idowu, a resident of the community.

With prompt action, the firemen were able to recover the lifeless body of the young boy from the well. The body was then handed over to Mr. Yussuf, a family member of the deceased, for proper burial arrangements.

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the State Director of Fire Service, expressed deep sadness over the tragic incident. He took the opportunity to remind the general public to exercise caution in their day-to-day activities, emphasizing the importance of avoiding situations that could potentially lead to such unfortunate events. Additionally, he urged individuals to refrain from sending underage children to fetch water from domestic wells, as it poses a significant risk to their safety.
