Authorities in Thunder Bay are making a fresh plea for information in a murder case that remains unsolved two years after the incident occurred.

On the night of November 4, 2021, Thunder Bay Police received multiple reports of possible gunshots fired at a residence located in the 200 block of Amelia Street West. Responding swiftly to the emergency, first responders discovered a male victim with severe injuries consistent with a shooting. Tragically, the victim, identified as Conrad Joseph Bannon, a 31-year-old Thunder Bay resident, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

In January of 2022, a 17-year-old male hailing from Cambridge, Ontario, was apprehended in connection with the murder. The suspect, who remains unnamed due to legal restrictions surrounding juvenile offenders, was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant and charged with first-degree murder. However, in a surprising turn of events, the charges against the teenager were withdrawn in May of 2022.

With the case still unresolved, Thunder Bay Police’s major crimes unit is now reaching out to the public, seeking their assistance in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Conrad Joseph Bannon’s untimely death.
