The lifeless body discovered in the River Dee at Bangor-on-Dee on October 20 has been identified as Paul Leonard Edwards, a 60-year-old man with no fixed abode but originally hailing from Wem, Shropshire. This revelation was confirmed by the police after the body was found. The tragic incident prompted an inquest, which commenced on November 6 at County Hall in Ruthin.

According to details presented during the inquest, a vigilant member of the public stumbled upon Edwards’ lifeless body ensnared in debris within the river. While a preliminary post-mortem examination was conducted, the exact cause of Paul Leonard Edwards’ demise remains undetermined. The provisional cause of death has been deferred, pending the results of comprehensive toxicological analysis.
