Man Fatally Shot in Camden

CAMDEN, NJ — A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night in Camden as a man was fatally shot in the city, according to officials.

Shortly after 9 p.m., numerous calls were made to 911 reporting a shooting at the intersection of 10th and Mechanic Streets, as revealed by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO). Responding officers swiftly arrived at the scene, where they discovered a man named Jamal Scott. Scott, a 48-year-old resident of Camden, was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, authorities have confirmed.

In an attempt to save Scott’s life, he was immediately rushed to Cooper University Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Scott was pronounced dead a few minutes later, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The CCPO and local law enforcement agencies have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
