RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) – In the early hours of Saturday morning, a tragic shooting incident unfolded in Richmond Heights, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old man and leaving three individuals injured. The local authorities have identified the suspect as Raymond Melton, who remains at large. The Richmond Heights Police Department (RHPD) released a photograph of the suspect on Saturday evening, urging the public to assist in his capture. As of Monday, the search for Melton is ongoing, and officials have emphasized that he is considered armed and dangerous.

According to the RHPD, Raymond Melton is known to drive two vehicles, a cream-colored 2012 Kia Sorento and a dark blue 2008 BMW. The police have shared this information in the hope that it will aid in the suspect’s apprehension. In an effort to assist the public in recognizing Melton, the authorities have also provided an image of him.

Richmond Heights Police Chief Calvin Williams revealed that the shooting occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the 500 block of Towns Lane. Details surrounding the motive or circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed at this time. However, the RHPD confirmed that three individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the shooting.

Tragically, Joseph Garth, a 26-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Hillcrest Hospital, as confirmed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. The loss of a young life has deeply saddened the Richmond Heights community, and authorities are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.
