Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Rivers State Police Command has announced that it is investigating the death of another female student, Adaeze, from the University of Port Harcourt. Adaeze’s lifeless body was discovered in her apartment in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state. The cause of her death is currently unknown. Adaeze was a 200-level undergraduate student studying Accounting.
This tragic incident comes just two weeks after the decomposing body of another student, Justina Otuene, was found in the residence of her ex-lover, Damian Okoligwe. Justina, a 300-level undergraduate student of Biochemistry, was allegedly killed by Okoligwe, a 400-level student of Petrochemical Engineering, who has since been arrested by the police.

According to the Dean of Student Affairs at UNIPORT, Prof. Chima Wokocha, Adaeze’s body was found in her off-campus residence in Aluu. Concerned neighbors brought her to the Chief Lulu-Briggs Health Centre in the school. The university’s management, along with the police, visited the scene of the incident. Adaeze’s parents have also been informed of the tragic event.
Prof. Wokocha revealed that a bottle of a substance was found beside Adaeze’s body, indicating that she may have consumed something before her death. The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to Adaeze’s death. The Divisional Police Officer reported that a landlord discovered the lifeless body and noticed foam coming out of Adaeze’s nose and mouth. Additionally, a bottle of sniper, a toxic substance, was found nearby.
