Bucks County Man Convicted of Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old Jesse “Nuk” Everett

Accident – Death – Obituary News : MOUNT HOLLY – A man from Bucks County in Pennsylvania has been found guilty of the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in the town. Tamir Phillips, aged 24, shot Jesse “Nuk” Everett at a gas station in August 2021, resulting in the teenager’s tragic death. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the incident, stating that Phillips fired a single shot into Everett’s head while he sat in a stolen car at the Phillips 66 gas station located at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Beverly-Rancocas Road.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Phillips, who frequently used the stolen car with the owner’s permission, noticed Everett in the vehicle as he was passing by the gas station. Subsequently, Phillips pulled into the station and confronted the young boy before committing the fatal act. Fortunately, the two individuals who were with Everett in the car escaped unharmed.

The shooting took place at approximately 3 p.m., and despite efforts to save him, Everett succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon. The victim’s family had relocated from Newark just over a year prior in an attempt to escape the violence prevalent in the North Jersey city. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Imani Sierchio, who identified herself as Everett’s sister, expressed the family’s devastation, describing him as a “good kid” who did not deserve such a tragic fate. The grieving mother, Danielle Everett, fondly remembered her son as a goofy, loving, caring, and supportive individual. She emphasized his love for football, basketball, and his siblings, noting that he was one of 14 children.

Phillips, a resident of Bensalem who was known to frequent Willingboro, was promptly identified as the primary suspect. Charges were filed against him the day after the shooting, thanks to the diligent efforts of law enforcement. After two days of deliberation, a jury found Phillips guilty of murder and weapons offenses. Superior Court Judge Gerard Breland has scheduled his sentencing for January 5.

The conviction brings some closure to the Everett family and the community of Mount Holly, who have been deeply affected by this senseless act of violence. The loss of a young life has once again highlighted the urgent need for measures to address gun violence and protect vulnerable individuals, particularly minors, from becoming victims.
