Accident – Death – Obituary News : AUSTIN, Texas — In a breakthrough development, a man has been apprehended in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in North Austin over four months ago. Brandon Demont Miller, also known as “Coo Coo,” was arrested by the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Monday, November 6. Miller, 46, faces a murder charge obtained by the Austin Police Department (APD) on July 6.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) had been on the lookout for Miller, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting that took place on June 30 in the 8800 block of Redfield Lane in Austin. The incident unfolded when police responded to a distress call reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a man on the ground with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, the victim, later identified as 47-year-old Larry Jennings, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations revealed that the shooting occurred at the Raintree Apartments, where witnesses reported seeing Jennings engaged in a confrontation with several men in the parking lot. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, leading to the tragic outcome. Following their homicide investigation, the APD identified Miller as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

To assist with locating and apprehending Miller, the APD sought the assistance of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. The task force embarked on a four-month fugitive investigation, eventually leading them to a residence in the 3600 block of Menchaca Road. Task force officers promptly surrounded the property and successfully arrested Miller without incident, according to the DOJ.

Following his arrest, Miller was taken to the APD Headquarters for processing before being booked into the Travis County Jail. Currently, he awaits further judicial proceedings.

Remarkably, Miller’s arrest marks the second successful apprehension of an Austin homicide suspect by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force within the past week, according to the DOJ.
