Armed Robbers Target USPS Workers in Milwaukee, Leaving 49-Year-Old and 33-Year-Old Victims

Accident – Death – Obituary News : MILWAUKEE — Two postal workers employed by the United States Postal Service (USPS) fell victim to armed robberies on Milwaukee’s south side on Monday afternoon. The incidents occurred about an hour apart, with police later pursuing a vehicle believed to be connected to the crimes. The suspects attempted to flee on foot after abandoning the vehicle, but law enforcement officers were able to apprehend them and take them into custody. Authorities discovered several weapons in their possession, including a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine and a “ghost gun” handgun with an extended magazine.

The first robbery took place at around 10:19 a.m. on the 3400 block of S. 12th St., while the second occurred at approximately 11:10 a.m. on the 3200 block of S. 28th St. The victims, aged 49 and 33, were confronted by armed individuals who forcibly took their belongings before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officers later spotted the vehicle connected to the robberies on the 3200 block of S. 26th St. When they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver refused to comply and a pursuit ensued. One of the suspects, a 21-year-old male, exited the vehicle on the 3200 block of S. 26th St. and attempted to flee on foot. However, he was successfully apprehended on the 3000 block of S. 11th St. The pursuit eventually ended when the vehicle came to a stop on the 1500 block of N. 30th St. The driver and two other occupants, a 21-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, were taken into custody following a brief foot chase.

During the investigation, law enforcement recovered a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, a “ghost gun” handgun with an extended magazine, and a BB gun rifle. These weapons were subsequently placed into evidence. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review the case and determine the appropriate charges to be filed against the suspects.

In addition to the USPS robberies, the Milwaukee Police Department is also investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, November 6, 2023, at around 2:00 p.m. The incident took place at the intersection of N. Teutonia Ave. and W. Cornell St., resulting in a 32-year-old victim being transported to a local hospital for treatment.
