Bhubaneswar, Nov 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) – The city of Bhubaneswar was rocked by two gruesome murders as a 5-year-old girl and a 35-year-old woman were brutally killed in separate incidents late Monday night. The shocking crimes have left the community in a state of shock and the police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits.

In the first case, a 25-year-old married man, identified as Ghania Das, allegedly raped and murdered the 5-year-old girl in a slum area under the Airfield police limits. The accused, who worked as a daily wage laborer, is currently on the run. The victim’s mother recounted the horrifying incident, stating that she had briefly gone inside their house while her daughter was playing outside. When she returned, she discovered that her daughter was missing, and a local resident informed her that the accused had taken the girl away. The family confronted Das, but he pushed them aside and fled. Later, the girl’s bloodstained body was found wrapped in a blanket under the accused’s bed in his house. The victim’s mother alleged that the accused had raped and killed her daughter. The police have registered a case of murder (274/23) against the accused and are awaiting the autopsy report to add rape charges.

In another incident, a 35-year-old woman named Sasmita Behera was brutally attacked and killed by unknown miscreants in the Gothapatna area, situated on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar under the Chandaka police station jurisdiction. The victim and her husband ran a roadside eatery in the area. On the fateful night, the husband had gone to fetch water from a nearby tap when assailants assaulted the woman, resulting in her death. The motive behind the attack is yet to be determined, but the police suspect it may be related to some previous enmity.

In addition to these two shocking incidents, two other suspicious deaths were reported in the Airfield police station area. In one case, the family of a married woman accused her husband and in-laws of killing her over a dowry dispute. In the other case, the father of a 27-year-old girl alleged that her live-in partner was responsible for her murder. The police have detained both the husband and the lover of the deceased women after registering separate cases.

The community is in a state of shock and anger over the heinous crimes that have taken place in the city. The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice for the victims. The incidents have once again highlighted the need for stricter laws and better implementation of safety measures for women and children in society. The authorities must take immediate action to prevent such horrific crimes and ensure the safety and security of the residents of Bhubaneswar.
