41-year-old Ivy Gray and 22-year-old Kaile McLean identified as victims in Greensboro double homicide

The incidents have left the community shocked and mourning the loss of four individuals.

The first incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning when a mother and daughter were shot and killed. The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Ivy Gray and her 22-year-old daughter, Kaile McLean. The incident took place at Lemans at Lawndale Apartment Homes in building 3012, according to residents in the area.

One neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous for safety reasons, recounted hearing gunshots followed by a woman’s screams. Acting swiftly, the neighbor rushed to the scene only to discover the lifeless bodies of Gray and McLean lying on the ground. The police were promptly notified, and witnesses provided valuable information about the suspect, leading to the identification of the car he used to flee the scene.

Officers were able to track down the suspect and pursued him for approximately four miles until he lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a utility pole on Yanceyville Street and Rankin Road. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Justin Lyons, sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment. A warrant has been issued for Lyons’ arrest on two counts of first-degree murder.

Less than 24 hours later, the police were called to another shooting incident, resulting in the deaths of Carlos Alan Guerrero and Marseddez Elisa Lopez in the David Christian Place neighborhood. The authorities have not made any arrests in connection with this double homicide, but they do not believe it was a random act of violence.

The wave of violence has left the community shaken, with residents expressing their shock and concern. Michelle Wesclan, a local resident who witnessed the events unfold, described the chaos and the heavy police presence in the area. She recalled hearing the police sirens and seeing numerous patrol cars chasing the suspect. Moments later, she heard a loud crash, followed by the police blocking off the street.
