Tragic Car Crash Claims Life near Michigan State University

Police Identify Victim as 20-year-old Salvino Vackaro

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In a devastating incident near the campus of Michigan State University (MSU), a fatal car crash took the life of 20-year-old Salvino Vackaro from Oxford. The incident occurred on Sunday, prompting an immediate response from the East Lansing Police Department.

At approximately 1 a.m. on November 5th, local law enforcement received a distressing report of possible shots fired. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that it was a traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian. Sadly, Vackaro, the pedestrian struck by the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved in the accident initially fled the scene, adding to the already tragic nature of the incident. However, authorities later located the vehicle abandoned approximately a mile away from the crash site. To the investigators’ surprise, no one was found inside the car. A person of interest has been apprehended, but their identity is currently being withheld.
