Lancaster County Woman Found Dead, Husband Critically Injured in Apparent Shooting

LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) – Tragedy struck in Lancaster County as the local Sheriff’s Office discovered the lifeless body of Joann Boshart, a 62-year-old woman, while her husband, Robert Boshart, 62, was found critically injured from a gunshot wound. Deputies were responding to a welfare check on Friday, prompted by concerns raised by Joann’s sister.

The distressing incident unfolded after Joann Boshart failed to arrive at Malcom Public Schools, where she was scheduled to drive a school bus. Alarmed by her absence, Joann’s sister promptly contacted the authorities, urging them to conduct a welfare check on the couple residing near NW 98th and W Adams Streets. At approximately 1:55 p.m., Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene, discovering both Joann and Robert with gunshot wounds. A firearm was also found nearby.

Robert Boshart was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in an extremely critical condition. Meanwhile, an autopsy for Joann is scheduled for Monday, as investigators work tirelessly to piece together the facts surrounding this tragic event.
