APPOMATTOX, Va. (WDBJ) – A devastating car crash that occurred on Friday, November 3rd, has left the community of Appomattox, Virginia, in mourning as they grapple with the loss of a young life. Virginia State Police are currently investigating the incident that tragically resulted in the death of Jeremiah Tyree, a 17-year-old boy from Appomattox.

According to the preliminary investigation report, the accident took place on Double Bridges Rd. at approximately 4 p.m. The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado, heading southbound, lost control of the vehicle, veering off the right side of the road. The car collided with an embankment before overturning, causing the driver to be forcefully ejected from the vehicle.

Regrettably, Jeremiah Tyree was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to the severity of his injuries. Despite the prompt response from emergency services, the young man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Although the driver’s identity has not been disclosed, an 18-year-old male passenger was also present in the vehicle during the crash. Fortunately, he escaped the incident without any injuries. However, it has been revealed that the passenger, like Tyree, was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
