11-Year-Old Dominic Davis Fatally Shot in Cincinnati’s West End; Mental Health Crisis Teams Collaborate with Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy

Accident – death – Obituary News : CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy has announced its collaboration with mental health crisis teams following the tragic death of an 11-year-old student in Cincinnati’s West End neighborhood on Friday. The school is taking proactive measures to support those affected by the incident.

According to the Cincinnati police, the shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday night near the intersection of Jones Street and Wade Street. Terri Theetge, the Police Chief, reported that the children were gathered near the Jones and Wade streets intersection when an individual in a dark Sedan unleashed 22 rounds of gunfire in quick succession towards the group.

Upon receiving the distress call, officers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered six victims of the shooting. Three of the victims were immediately transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, two were taken to UC Medical Center, and tragically, one victim, an 11-year-old boy, was pronounced dead on-site. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office later confirmed the deceased child’s identity as Dominic Davis.

Of the six victims, two were students of the Cincinnati College Prep Academy, with one of them being the 11-year-old who lost his life. The remaining three victims attended Cincinnati Public Schools.
