Ronald Leyman Jr., aged 27, has been charged with two counts of child abuse by the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office, reflecting the severity of the allegations brought against him.

The shocking incident came to light when police received a distress call reporting child abuse at a local hospital in the early hours of Friday, shortly before 4 a.m. The victim, a young child, had sustained serious abusive injuries, requiring immediate medical attention and admission to the hospital, as confirmed by Office Kris Gupilan.

Further investigation revealed that another child, a twin sibling of the victim, also residing in the same household, had also suffered abusive injuries. As a precautionary measure, this child was taken into Police Protective Custody and promptly transported to an area hospital for a thorough evaluation.

Following an in-depth inquiry and interviews with those involved, law enforcement successfully identified Ronald Leyman Jr. as the primary suspect in the case. As a result, he was taken into custody and is currently being held on a bond set at $300,000.
