Accident – death – Obituary News : Tragic Accident on Liberty Road Claims Four Lives in Maryland

New Windsor, Maryland – In a devastating accident on Saturday, November 4, Charles Black III, 72, of New Windsor, lost his life along with three other individuals when their vehicle was rear-ended by Austin Walker, 25, of Westminster. Maryland State Police reported that the collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Liberty Road.

The impact of the crash sent Black’s Chevy into the eastbound lanes, where it was struck by a Ford F-350, resulting in a catastrophic outcome. Barbara Black, 69, and Debbie Hill, 63, both passengers in the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. Tragically, Gage Black, a 17-year-old boy, was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he succumbed to his injuries. Another 15-year-old boy from New Windsor was also airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, a 59-year-old man from Mr. Airy, was taken to Carroll Hospital in Westminster to receive medical attention for his injuries sustained in the collision.

Investigators have determined that impaired driving was not a factor in this tragic accident. However, the exact cause of the collision is still under investigation. Maryland State Police are working diligently to gather all the necessary information to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As a result of the accident, all lanes on westbound Liberty Road were closed to facilitate the investigation. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has been assisting with road closures to ensure the safety of commuters in the area.
