Elderly Neighbor Assaulted and Carjacked by Amber Keeney in Pueblo County

Accident – death – Obituary News : PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — In a shocking incident that occurred on Friday morning, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s office (PCSO) apprehended a woman for allegedly carjacking her elderly neighbor, leaving the entire community in disbelief.

The suspect, identified as Amber Keeney, was reportedly walking along the road in the vicinity of 24th Lane and Shylo Drive when she approached her elderly neighbor, who happened to be driving a 2017 Land Rover. Keeney allegedly requested a ride to the hospital, to which the kind-hearted neighbor responded that he could not take her there but offered to drive her back home instead.

However, things took a sinister turn when Keeney refused to exit the vehicle. According to PCSO, she forcefully pushed the elderly man to the ground and seized control of his car. The victim, fortunately, escaped with minor injuries during the distressing incident.

Several hours later, a vigilant deputy spotted Keeney driving the stolen vehicle near 25th Lane and Gale Road. The deputy promptly initiated a traffic stop, and initially, Keeney complied by pulling over. However, in a daring act, she suddenly accelerated and fled the scene before the deputy could approach her.

Thanks to the efficient work of the detectives from the special investigations unit, the stolen car was spotted once again, this time near 18th and Hooper streets on the west side of the City of Pueblo. Acting swiftly, the detectives strategically surrounded the vehicle, successfully apprehending Keeney and bringing her into custody without further incident.

In light of her alleged actions, Keeney now faces charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, and crimes against an at-risk adult. As a result, she has been placed under arrest and is currently being held at the Pueblo County Jail.
