A shocking incident unfolded in Bengaluru’s Chandra Layout as a 26-year-old man allegedly murdered his married cousin’s husband. The accused, accompanied by his brother, brutally attacked the victim in broad daylight on Thursday night.
The victim has been identified as Mudassir Khan, a goods auto driver residing in Vinayaka Layout. He was married to Ayesha Banu. The barbaric act took place between 7 pm and 8 pm near Om Shakthi Temple in Gangondanahalli. The assailants, Wahid Ahmed (26) and his brother Matheen Ahmed (24), both painters from the same locality, are now in police custody.
According to the police, Wahid had been troubling Ayesha for the past four months, persistently expressing his desire to marry her and even threatening to kill Mudassir. The day of the incident was no different, as the accused duo sexually harassed Ayesha while she desperately tried to save her husband. Ayesha wasted no time and filed a complaint, leading to the immediate arrest of the brothers by the Chandra Layout police.

Providing further details, an officer stated, “On the day of the incident, Wahid allegedly spread baseless rumors about Ayesha to her friend residing near the temple. Upon learning about this, Ayesha rushed to the spot and called Mudassir for support. Amidst a heated exchange, the accused initially attempted to assault Mudassir with a machete. However, they later resorted to attacking him with a wooden plank. Shockingly, the brothers also subjected Ayesha to further humiliation. Despite the efforts of her family members who arrived at the scene promptly and rushed Khan to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.”
Wahid and Matheen have been charged with murder, attempted murder, and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
