A Tragic Accident on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway Claims the Life of a Young Man and Injures a Woman
In a devastating incident early Sunday morning, a 25-year-old man from D’Abadie lost his life while a 23-year-old woman suffered injuries after the car they were traveling in crashed on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. The deceased has been identified as Kobe Christian La Borde.
According to the police reports, the accident occurred at approximately 4:15 am when La Borde was driving a blue Toyota Corolla NZE car eastbound along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. Accompanying him was Brittney Karriah, aged 23, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

As the car approached National Canners, tragedy struck as it veered off the road, colliding with the median before ultimately crashing into a tree stump. The impact of the collision caused the car to flip multiple times before finally coming to rest on its four wheels in the right lane of the westbound carriageway. Shockingly, the vehicle traveled a staggering 158 feet from the point of impact before coming to a halt.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, La Borde succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Karriah, on the other hand, was fortunate to survive the crash but sustained significant injuries. She was promptly rushed to the Arima Hospital by a relative and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope. As of now, she remains in stable condition, and medical professionals are closely monitoring her progress.
