MERSING, November 4 – A young school canteen worker, Mohamad Yasin Abdul Jaleel, aged 18, tragically lost his life today after drowning at Pantai Air Papan beach in Mersing. The incident occurred during a family holiday.

The distressing event unfolded at approximately 1pm, when the victim was discovered stranded on the beach. Concerned members of the public immediately rushed to his aid, attempting to assist him before emergency services arrived.

Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani, the district police chief of Mersing, confirmed the unfortunate demise of Mohamad Yasin. Following his rescue, he was promptly transported to Mersing Hospital for medical attention, but sadly, the medical officer pronounced him dead.

An investigation into the incident was swiftly conducted, and the authorities have determined that no foul play was involved. Consequently, the case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR). Supt Abdul Razak provided this information when contacted by Bernama earlier today.
