The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a homicide in Southeast Washington. A man was treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital but later died. The victim has been identified as Jamal Walton. MPD is seeking information from the public and offering a reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction. Gabby Allen reported

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that took place in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, Southeast, Washington. The incident occurred at approximately noon on Wednesday.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when a man arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. Tragically, the victim, identified as Jamal Walton, a 25-year-old resident of Northwest, D.C., later succumbed to his injuries.

In their efforts to bring justice to this case, the MPD is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. They can do so by contacting the MPD hotline at (202) 727-9099 or by sending a text message to the tip line at 50411. It is important to note that a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to individuals who provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this heinous crime..
