Clarksburg, WV – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zander Klimek, a beloved member of our community. Zander, known for his unwavering commitment to his family and his passion for adventure, touched the lives of many with his infectious spirit and warm personality. As we reflect on his remarkable journey, it becomes evident that Zander’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Zander Klimek’s devotion to his family was unmatched. Throughout his life, he prioritized their well-being and happiness above all else. His deep love for his wife, Colleen, was evident in every aspect of their lives together. Together, they embraced their faith and found solace in serving their local church community. Colleen’s unwavering commitment to the Lord and her active involvement in Beth Moore events, Bible studies, and teaching AWANA alongside her daughters, Kaylynne Klimek (Curtis) and Kimra Griffith, showcased her deep-rooted faith and dedication to her spiritual growth.

Zander’s own journey was marked by a thirst for adventure and a willingness to embrace new experiences. After graduating high school, he joined the Army, forging friendships that would last a lifetime. Zander’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to start various successful businesses, and he was an active member of the Farm Bureau. His love for the outdoors translated into countless fishing trips and a memorable thirty-year period living in Alaska with Colleen, where they welcomed a blended family of stepchildren and numerous grandchildren into their home.

The sea held a special place in Zander’s heart, and he shared this love with his children and grandchildren during their cherished moments spent on the Oregon coast. Zander was not only kind-hearted but also possessed a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He was never one to shy away from getting his hands dirty, often immersing himself in boat and automobile projects. Zander generously shared his wisdom and skills with others, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

In the face of adversity, Zander approached each challenge with unwavering tenacity. When cancer entered his life, he tackled it head-on, just as he had done with any obstacle that came his way. Zander’s determination and resilience were truly inspiring, and he faced his battle with courage and grace until the very end.

Zander’s adventures would not have been possible or complete without the unwavering support of his loving spouse of 36 years, Colleen. Together, they encouraged their children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchild, Ashlyn, to embrace their shared passion for exploration, driving, and embarking on unforgettable road trips. Zander’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his grandchildren: Kiersten Vooge (Jake), Keenan Mursch (Savannah), Tyler Mursch, Carianna Zeisel (Ian), DeAnna Mursch, Joshua Klimek, and Zander Griffith.
