On August 17, 2023, at the age of 74, Franklin bid farewell to the world at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA. His departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Born in Fountain Hill, PA, Franklin was the son of the late John and Alma Seyfried. Growing up in Bethlehem Township, PA, he formed lifelong connections and friendships that shaped his remarkable journey. Franklin’s unwavering commitment and honor were evident during his service in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country.
Franklin’s professional life was equally distinguished, as he dedicated three decades of his life to Bethlehem Steel, playing a significant role in its strength and success. Alongside his career at Bethlehem Steel, Franklin’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he owned and operated Seyfried Auto Repair Co. in Bethlehem. His dedication to excellence and unwavering commitment to serving his community were evident in all aspects of his life.
Even after retiring in 2009, Franklin continued to share his skills and talents with the world, working at Air Products in Allentown. His work ethic and passion for excellence remained steadfast, even in retirement. However, above all else, Franklin treasured his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mabel E. Seyfried, who stood by his side through life’s triumphs and challenges, building a life filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.
In addition to his wife, Franklin is survived by his daughter, Jennifer A. Seyfried, who now resides in Orlando, FL. He also leaves behind his sister, Nancy Zoltack of Walnutport, and his brother, William Seyfried, along with sister-in-law Linda Seyfried of Bethlehem. Franklin J. Seyfried’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering dedication to his country, his work, and his family serves as an enduring inspiration. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he left on our lives.
