An adult from Indio and two juveniles from Coachella were arrested for attempted murder after a shooting incident in Coachella. The victim, a 32-year-old Coachella resident, was airlifted to a local hospital and is recovering. The suspects, identified as Jeraldo Mederos and two 15-year-old juveniles, were located and arrested by the Special Investigations Unit. Mederos was booked for attempted murder, mayhem, felony child endangerment, and probation violation, while the juveniles were booked for attempted murder and mayhem. Three individuals, including one adult from Indio and two juveniles from Coachella, have been apprehended for their involvement in an attempted murder case.
According to Sgt. David Aldrich, on July 26, 2023, at 9:36 p.m., the Thermal Sheriff’s Station patrol units swiftly responded to a shooting incident in the 51800 block of Calle Techa, located in the city of Coachella. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a 32-year-old Coachella resident who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported via airlift to a local hospital, where they are currently in the process of recovering.

Leading the investigation, the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit took charge of the case.

After conducting a thorough investigation, the suspects involved were identified as Jeraldo Mederos, a 19-year-old resident of Indio, and two 15-year-old juveniles hailing from Coachella.

On August 02, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit successfully apprehended one of the 15-year-old juveniles in the 47600 block of Oasis Street in Indio.
On August 15, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested the other 15-year-old juvenile in the 52700 block of Frederick Street in Coachella.
On August 16, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit also located and arrested Mederos in the 47900 block of Arabia Street in Indio.
Mederos has since been booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on charges of attempted murder, mayhem, felony child endangerment, and probation violation. As for the two 15-year-old juveniles, they have been booked at the Juvenile Hall in Indio for attempted murder and mayhem.
