Zarrius Ray Hildabrand, a member of the U.S. Army, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, Saria Hildabrand, in Alaska. Zarrius Hildabrand initially reported his wife missing on August 7th, but police became suspicious when they found the disturbing scene in their home. A complaint filed in the case states that the accused soldier claimed both he and Saria had been partying on the night of August 5th and returned home in the early hours of August 6th. He alleged that his wife, who was hungover, walked to work without her phone. Zarrius waited to contact the police because he believed it was a misunderstanding and hoped to find his wife.

However, Saria’s co-workers informed investigators that she did not show up for work that day, and they received text messages from her phone number about 45 minutes after Zarrius said she had left home, stating that she would not be coming to work. A friend of Saria’s, who had been celebrating with the couple, also confirmed that Saria had mentioned not planning to go to work on August 6th.

Zarrius Hildabrand’s actions raised further suspicion. He made several trips to various stores on August 6th, purchasing items such as bed sheets, a mattress cover, hydrogen peroxide, a spray bottle, and even marinara sauce. He also bought a trash can from another store. When police initially searched the couple’s home, Zarrius allowed them access but refused to let them look under the bed, citing “embarrassing” items stored there.

Authorities eventually discovered a mattress soaked in blood, leading them to the shocking finding of Saria’s body. The complaint states that police found what appeared to be a pillow inside a storm drain, and beneath it were the remains of Saria Hildabrand, who had suffered a gunshot wound to her head. Interestingly, police had responded to a disturbance complaint in the area of a possible gunshot on the morning of August 6th but did not find anything suspicious at the time.
