While filming a video for her “100 days of solo dates” series on TikTok, Witter noticed the man following her and exhibiting peculiar behavior, such as sniffing her. In a brave move, she confronted the man while he was crouched near her, claiming to be tying his shoes. Witter recorded the incident to protect herself and brought it to the attention of store staff, causing the man to leave. She described feeling violated and stalked throughout her time in the store. The man, identified as Calese Crowder, has a history of similar offenses and has been sentenced to 60 days in county jail. In addition, he is required to attend classes aimed at addressing sexual impulse-control issues.
