“Florida Man Arrested in Connection with Murder of Ashley Voss”

A second Florida man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Ashley Voss, a young mother of two who was shot in her car in July. Phillip Stapleton is accused of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. The first man arrested, Aurelio Diaz, Jr., is charged with premeditated murder. Stapleton claims that Diaz shot and killed Voss after being instructed to “prank” her. The motive for the murder remains unclear. Authorities announced this week that another man from Florida has been arrested in connection with the murder of a young mother of two who was shot in the back in her own car in late July.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Stapleton, aged 32, has been charged with principal to murder in the first degree and conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. He was apprehended on Monday with the assistance of deputies from the nearby Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated on Monday, "This arrest is another example of the determination with which our detectives pursue leads to crimes here in Hillsborough County. Our team tirelessly works on each tip to eliminate any potential danger to the community we serve."

The first person arrested in the case, Aurelio Diaz, Jr., aged 32, has been charged with premeditated murder in the first degree for the fatal <a href="https://countylocalnews.com/">shooting</a> of 22-year-old Ashley Voss on July 20, according to the HCSO.
The victim was killed in front of her grandmother's house on Orange Street. A criminal report affidavit in Diaz's case reveals that in a text message conversation with Stapleton, who is the father of her younger son, Voss mentioned that she decided to hang out in her car after work because it was "too comfortable."
<p>The affidavit states, "Detectives observed that the victim was sitting on her cellphone, which was powered on. Detectives were able to access the phone and confirm numerous text messages exchanged.".
