Frederick Leon Davis, aged 19, from Minneapolis, and Navaeh Page, aged 20, will make their initial appearance in Hennepin County court on Wednesday. Davis is facing one count of second-degree attempted murder, while Page is charged with aiding an offender after the fact. The incident occurred around 8 PM last Friday when Officer Jacob Spies was struck in the shoulder by automatic gunfire while pursuing a robbery suspect who had fled a previous traffic stop earlier that evening. Fortunately, Officer Spies was discharged from the hospital the same night and is expected to fully recover.

An air quality alert has been issued for northern Minnesota, effective until 10 AM tomorrow (Wednesday).
